WWTPPeople are sometimes surprised there is a cost for sewage (wastewater) removal. After all, drinking water is treated so it’s safe to drink.

Water treatment is a lot like a toll bridge; it cost money no matter which way you’re going. Treating wastewater, so it is safe to be returned to the environment, can cost as much or more than providing safe drinking water. Wastewater services being provided 365 days a year requires certified operators and must meet the EPA and Colorado Department of Health and Environment’s stringent regulations. So, that’s why every residential customer pays a sewer base rate charge on their monthly water bill.

Residential Sewer Rates (Effective January 1, 2023)
Sewer Base Rate: $113.97
(Minimum Daily Sewer Rate: $1.90 per day)
